A couple weekends ago Mat and I were up in Brigham City visiting family. We’re up north often but for some reason we hadn’t visited Dixie Grill since we moved to Salt Lake last year. We used to live just a few blocks from Dixie Grill and it was our favorite burger joint, though we tried not to eat there too often. Something about burgers and fries every night not being healthy or some nonesense. Anyway, it had been a while so we made sure to stop by.
I used to walk by Dixie Grill every day on the walk home from the junior high. Occasionally I’d have money and I always wanted to stop for their tator tots. See, even as a kid my mind was constantly on food. They have seating inside and a drive through but they also have a window in the front with some tables, chairs and umbrellas. It’s the perfect place to bring an unruly puppy.
We ordered our usual beef and bacon burger with fries and drinks with a bowl of water for Logan. And, as usual, we were quite satisfied with our food. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just old-fashioned, cooked-to-order food with ample amounts of fry sauce (this is Utah, after all).
If you’re ever up in Brigham City (admit it, it’s where you hang on the weekends), or even just driving past to get to Logan/Idaho (as is usually the case) make the detour to Dixie Grill and tell me what you think. Have I talked it up too much? Or is it a good old-fashioned burger joint like I think?
